Here is monthly Japanese class newsletter.
Please enjoy reading it.
This month, The Grade 1 students learned the kanji for numbers at the topic of “Kazu to kanji”. They also learned how to count in Japanese. The way of counting things in Japanese is different depending on the things being counted like papers (-まい), cars (-だい), small animals (- ひき/びき/ぴき), and long objects (-ほん/ぼん/ぽん). It is a little hard for them to use these words correctly, so please keep practicing it when you have a chance.
And then they were happy to get a new Japanese Kokugo textbook (the second volume)!!
They read the story “Kujiragumo”. They read a loud cheerfully, especially their favorite phrase「天までとどけ、一、二、三！」(describing the children jumped to the sky).
Also they learned how to describe an appearance of creature (ex: animals bugs, plants) in detail at the topic ”Shirasetaina misetaina”.
About the kanji practice, every students is making a great effort and many students has gotten a perfect score at the kanji test so far!
* Please be informed about Japanese homework again. They have a kanji test every Monday. Before the test, on Friday they have homework for practice. Also sometimes (It depends on the Unit) they have reading homework.
Please check it with your children. I appreciate your support.
